Chris Fennessy -Opera & Music Theatre
Chris was a popular performer in the ABC Pops Series including the Heartbeat, Best of British and Westend to Broadway concerts. He was a featured soloist in the Lord Mayor’s Concert.
Chris also appeared in the nationally televised Victory Day 50th Year Anniversary Flame of Freedom. Chris became the youngest ever performer to perform the role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, receiving rave reviews performing the role over 100 times.
While studying opera performance at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane, Chris became a regular featured soloist with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra Pops.
In 1994 Chris became the youngest ever performer to perform the role of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, receiving rave reviews performing the role over 100 times throughout New Zealand. This lead to him understudying the role and to perform several minor roles in the very successful tour of Asia and South Africa in 1996 with the International Company of Les Miserables. Chris finished a two year tour of Australia and New Zealand in August of 1999, once again with Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Les Miserables but this time as the alternate Jean Valjean. In this capacity he performed the role over 200 times.
