Mask Workshops
Mask & clown workshops for all ages. It's all about non-verbal communication as a means of short-circuiting the censoring, logical brain, and developing physical expression, ensemble spirit and group-devising skills. Through a series of exercises students will work together in silence to create theatre, and just watch their expressiveness increase as the workshop unfolds.
Mask Workshops will include such styles as Basil, Trestle, Commedia, Clown, Greek and Grotesque.
Basel Masks - The Basels will elevate students' skills in movement, complicite and inhabiting a character, and are simply amazing to watch.
Neutral - Revelatory physical training, the Neutral Mask brings the body to life and all of a sudden every tiny movement, every look, every breath, resounds with meaning.
Commedia dell’Arte - These workshops will have students surprising themselves with how larger than life, bold and hilarious they can be.
Trestle - Created by Trestle Theatre Company in the UK, embodying different simple 'types', these expressive, versatile masks are always a hit with students and can be applied in many ways.
Monster Masks - These masks seriously bring out the ugly and people love them because they are sooo liberating. And freaky.
Clowning For The Actor - In this workshop, students will discover their inner clown (everybody’s got one!) and have each other rolling on the floor laughing one minute and ‘awwing’ in sympathy the next.
