Wayne is a winner of the Mo Awards’ for Musical Theatre Performer of the Year (2004), Peter Allen Variety Performer of the year (2006), Dance Performer of the Year ( 2007) Musical Theatre Performer of the Year ( 2008), the Edinburgh Festival “Pick of the Fringe Award” ( 2000).
Wayne starred as Cosmo Brown in the Australian and Asian tour of Singin’ in the Rain. Receiving standing ovations for his show stealing number Make ‘em Laugh. Frequently seen in other theatre roles such as, Mike ‘ I Can Do That’ in A Chorus Line, Arab in Westside Story, and the Australian production of Chicago, and most recently the STC’s production of Urinetown and the Melbourne / Sydney Seasons Guys & Dolls. His Television credits include dramatic roles in Kings in Grass Castles, The Heroes and The Shiralee. He was a principal motion capture performer on the feature film Happy Feet playing the roles of Love Lace and Memphis – Wayne was the movement to Robin Williams voice.
He has also conceived and stared in Candy Man enjoying critical acclaim and standing ovations where ever it is performed.
