Jambezi

Jambezi is a high energy 8-piece marimba dance band playing a variety of vibrant and joyous songs from Southern Africa. The group’s performance experience includes major festivals throughout QLD including the Woodford Folk Festival.

Jambezi’s sense of joy is underpinned by an incisive rhythmic cohesion that comes only with experience of playing together and a through a thorough grounding in tradition. Jambezi feature 7 Marimbas (wooden xylophones from Zimbabwe) ranging from soprano, tenor, baritone and bass.
